This article is about things you should not do with a commercal site. i liked reading this article.. its basically split up with paragraphs and the headers are the things not to do, so you can jsut scroll through and look at the topics real quick and then read the silly things you probably have already done. I noticed a couple things on here that i have done in the past that would not fly with a commercal site like .. Keeping colors simple and Wacky Fonts for an example.. Good Article, A Must Read!
I think a search engine is a great resource for ecommerce. if you have a lot of data and decriptions and a large ammount of content on your site but do not have the time or resources to create a search engine for you site.. google has a service that will search just your site for contents. this is helpful for smaller business site that may not have the resoursces avalible to them. also using google just to search the internet for content or new products is a valueble tool.

I Stumbled across this link when i was looking up resources for ecommerce, and it looks like a great source for business related news that has to do with the internet. there was some good content, and after reading a couple articles i feel i have a grasp on whats going on in the business/internet world.
The Nationl Information Standards Organization is an organization that publishes and manages techniocal standards for information on the digital world or the internet. Standards are great tools for ecommerce to keep things together and able for anyone to view in any situation they can. The NISO helps inform people of the standards and gives the resources to anyone that needs them.
The American National Standards Institute is the fellas that help set the standards for jsut about everything! even the NISO is backed by the ANSI. most any standard for ecommerce will either be created or supported by the ANSI.

Flash Commerce is something i found searching google that gives a detailed listing of Ecommerce and E-Business Conferences. Looks to be a good resource for finding information on conferences.
The Institute for International Research confernce page shows conferences that are for communications of the internet and research into new technologies. This would be a great conference to attend if you were managing the media used to communicate via the internet.
